Cabbage ‘Duncan’ is a fast-growing variety, producing compact pointed heads of crisp leaves with a sweet nutty flavour. This versatile vegetable is perfect for growing in small spaces. Seedlings planted in spring will be ready to harvest in summer. Seedlings planted in late summer or early autumn can be harvested the following spring as spring greens (the looser leaves that appear before a solid head develops) or left to develop into maincrop cabbages.
How you will receive your plants:
Selected by our team of experts and sent from our nursery, you will receive your seedlings in plug trays in a box. These are designed to keep your plants secure and to prevent damage in transit. The seedlings can be planted out into the garden with no need to pot on.
Can’t plant straight away?
If you cant plant out straight away, remove the pots from their packaging and give them a good water. Place somewhere cool and shaded in the garden, ensuring the compost remains moist at all times.
Planting tips and hints:
Planting in the ground: Dig a hole approximately twice as deep and 3 times as wide as the plant, if your soil is heavy mix in general-purpose compost, horticultural sand and stone or potting grit to ensure good drainage. Gently compact the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.
