This great new melon will grow outdoors! No special soil warming required, just some mulch or weed suppressing membrane.
This great Galia type melon will grow outdoors! Plant through weed suppressing membrane or mulch or cover with cloches and it will reliably produce lovely sweet fruit even in a British summer. Typically fruit is about tennis ball sized – just right for one person and plants are powdery mildew resistant too.
It typically produces three fruits per plant each about 4in / 10cm across and weighing 10-12oz / 300g each, and they have lovely sweet taste. Also powdery mildew resistant.
