Description

Raspberry Autumn Treasure (x5)

  • Thorn-free stems
  • Ample fruit from one plant
  • Uniform berries

Vigorous raspberry variety that gives you fruit in abundance in summer and into autumn. Long and big individual fruit lets you harvest easily and fruit is ready for picking in the first year of planting.

Ideal for growing in an allotment, strong-growing Autumn Treasure is a primocane cane type that reveals fruit in big numbers every year provided your plants get full sun and develop in deep, rich soil.

You raspberry plants arrive to you as bare-root canes in a plastic bag around the stems to keep them moist and a full network of roots. Plant in winter and the roots grow to support the fruiting stems growing in spring.

We suggest you add half a bag of John Innes No2 compost or well-rotted manure into your soil as good practice at planting time and the annual pruning session in late winter. At planting space canes at least 1m (3 1/2ft) apart so your raspberry plants have space to develop.

When grown in the garden, cropping is from mid August through to mid September and as it is a Primocane variety, you will be picking your first crop in its first year.

Primocane (autumn-fruiting) varieties fruit on canes produced in the current year. After cropping, these should be cut down to ground level to promote the growth of new canes.
