Deciduous tree Laburnum watereri ‘Vossii’ is one of the most popular laburnum varieties, at its best in spring when the branches are covered in golden curtains of scented hanging flower clusters. It makes a spectacular specimen tree and can also be trained to grow over a pergola.

NB: all parts of this plant are toxic to humans and animals, including the seed pods which drop to the ground after the flowers are over. Wear gloves when working with Laburnums and dispose of any plant material carefully.

Plant in a well-drained soil in full sun. Water regularly in the first year after planting, while the plant is establishing. If necessary, prune between late summer and mid-winter to remove any damaged or crossing branches. Do not prune at any other time of year, as the sap will ‘bleed; heavily.
