Nasturtium ‘Ice Cream Sundae’ is a compact variety with eye-catching flowers that change colour and pattern as they mature, from bright yellow to deep scarlet. Flowering all summer long, this neat nasturtium is perfect for a patio pot or hanging basket.
Sow indoors
February-April: Sow 1cm (1⁄2in) deep in individual pots filled with damp seed compost. Keep at a temperature of 20-29°C (68-86°F) until germination
Sow outdoors
April-June: Sow where they are to flower 20mm (3⁄4in) deep in rows 30cm (12in) apart, in soil that has been dug over and raked smooth to a fine, crumbly texture.
Plant out
May: Once frosts are past, harden off and plant out indoor-grown seedlings into the permanent position 30cm (12in) apart.
